The unofficial ban on Pakistani artists is keeping them away from India. It has been over three months now since the ban on Pakistani artists was issued and from what it looks like, the scenario is likely to remain the same for a very long time. Initially the question was whether Fawad Khan would promote Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and now it's all about Mahira Khan. The Pakistani actress is going to make her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees and she isn't obviously gonna promote the film in our country. Rumour has it that Mahira will still join the Raees promotions but via Skype! Yes, the film makers have apparently found a way out for Mahira to be a part of the film promotions and according to a report in Mid-Day, she will be giving interviews via Skype. Now that's indeed a smart tactic. Don't you think so?
But wait a minute.. didn't SRK promote Raj Thackeray that he wouldn't let Mahira promote Raees? When Shah Rukh and Ritesh Sidhwani had met MNS Chief Raj Thackeray earlier lats month they had tried their best to convince him to allow Mahira to promote the film. However, Raj was helbent on his decision and both parties agreed that Mahira wouldn't be a part of the film promotions as far as India is concerned. Raj Thackeray himself spilled out the minutes of his meeting with Shah Rukh at a press conference. Be it the poster release or the trailer, Mahira was mum about the movie promotions until a couple of days ago when she started reacting to tweets on O Zaalima on her social media. The actress thanked fans for their appreciation towards O Zaalima from Raees, the song that released last week. The report further states that as the movie's release date is inching closer, the actress is on an overdrive and is promoting the film extensively.
Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Raees is an underworld drama with Shah Rukh essaying the role of famous Gujarati don Abdul Latif while Mahira plays the role of his wife. The film will release this Republic Day alongside Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil. LEt's see who wins the box office war - Shah Rukh or Hrithik!
