The film initially released in Kerala on May 20
It has become a trend lately to see regional films like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films to be released on a grander scale around the country. Most recently, the film that got huge release throughout India was Pawan Kalyan's Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Vijay's Theri and many others. Now a Malayalam film is getting an ambitious release.
The latest Malayalam movie titled Happy Wedding will be releasing throughout the country today that is on June 10. Eros International is releasing the movie such a grand scale, as they did with Sardaar Gabbar Singh in April. The reason for such a wide release of the Mollywood is due to its great success at the Kerala box office. A light, breezy romantic comedy, it stars Sharafudeen, Soubin Shahir, Siju Wilson, and Justin John who were all a major part of Nivin Pauly's Premam. So this factor itself gave this film a huge boost and it managed to do so well at the box office.
Another thing is that Dulquer Salmaan's latest crime drama Kamattipaadam has put Malayalam on a nationwide spotlight. So now is a great time for Mollywood films to come to the fore and to ensure that Malayalam film industry becomes as big as Tollywood or Kollywood.
As the name suggests, Happy Wedding is based on the incidents that leads to the marriage of Hari, a civil engineering graduate, played by Sharafudeen. Don't forget to catch the romantic comedy in theatres this weekend!
