This Hansal Mehta film has completed its last schedule recently...
Manoj Bajpayee has always shown promise from the time he worked in Television. His Bhiku Mhatre act in Satya is still considered a tough one to follow. He followed it up with many strong roles but nothing can be compared to what he has attempted in Hansal Mehta's Aligarh. Film that sees him play a gay professor, recently wrapped up its shoot.
The film is rumouredly inspired from a real-life incident of a gay professor from Aligarh Muslim University, who was asked to leave due to his sexuality. The shooting of the film began by Januray-end this year in Bareilly with the last schedule in Mumbai which was wrapped up last week. They also shot a few scenes in Allahabad and New Delhi. Manoj seems to be the entertainer on the sets by keeping everyone's spirits up by cracking jokes. They started shooting during the chilly winters and so the actor thought of keeping them warm with some jokes.
The film also has Rajkummar Rao in the cast apart from Bajpayee and is helmed by Hansal Mehta of Shahid and Citylights fame. It is an Eros International's film.
