His track ended in mere three days...
Actor Mayank Gandhi is might miffed. Understandably so. The actor entered Contiloe Productions' Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat as Virat. The actor's role was that of an authoritative person who is a catalyst in the love story of Kaurwaki (Saumya Seth) and Ashoka (Mohit Raina). However, his journey was cut short just after three days of shoot. It seems only two of his scenes were telecasted. This is the actor's shortest stint on a show so far.
The actor told a leading newspaper, "They told me that my track didn't work, which is amusing. How can they decide the fate of my track in just two scenes? The creative team told me that the show is going off-air soon and the makers don't want to give importance to new characters. It has been a sheer waste of time and money for me as I worked hard on my dialect and looks for the part."
Reports of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat going off air has been doing the rounds since quite some time. It seems dipping TRPs are the reason behind the same. For week 31, the ratings for Ashoka are 1.8, which puts it behind Kasam. It is more than Swaragini and Sasural Simar Ka though. As per grapevine, the introduction of Mohit Raina and Saumya has not escalated the ratings as expected. There was buzz that the production house was looking to replace the leading lady of the show as they were not happy with her acting. Some even suggested that child Ashoka aka Siddharth Nigam would be re-introduced on the show.
