On the auspicious occasion of Laxmi Pujan. filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his ambitious project Baiju Bawra on social media and revealed that it will hit the screens in Diwali 2021. There are rumours that Ajay Devgn has come on board to play the titular character in the film. While we are delighted with this announcement as we will see SLB's two films in the coming two years with Gangubai Kathiawadi and Baiju Bawra, there is a slight catch for the viewers, as the film on maverick musician will clash with Deepika Padukone's Mahabharat, which is co-produced by the actress herself.
A few days ago, the makers shared the news about Mahabharat and revealed that the Padmaavat star will enact the role of Draupadi in the film and it will be made in multiple parts. It is co-produced by Madhu Mantena. Talking about this, Deepika told Mumbai Mirror, "I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured to be essaying the role of Draupadi. I truly believe that it is the role of a lifetime. While the Mahabharat is popularly known for its mythological tales and cultural influence, many of life's lessons are also derived from the Mahabharat but most often from its men. Telling it with this fresh and new perspective will not only be interesting but also very significant."
On the other hand, Madhu added, "While we have all consumed the Mahabharat all our lives, the uniqueness of our film is seeing the same story from the point of view of Draupadi, who is one of the most significant heroines in our country's cultural history. And Deepika is not just the biggest Indian actress today, but someone who can take this narrative across borders. If it weren't with her, we would not be making this film on such an ambitious scale."
Well, Diwali 2021 seems to be a double bonanza for the audience. So from the above two films, which one makes you excited? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
