Check out the EXCLUSIVE video interview to know what the Talvar director had to say about the film and the case…
Talvar, starring Irrfan Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi, released today and the film’s director Meghna Gulzar is upbeat about the release. The film is based on the 2008 Aarushi Talwar murder case that shook the nation when a 14 year old child was found murdered in her house. The case has been very sensitive since its onset and making a film on such a case is a huge risk. So, before the release of the film we spoke to the director Meghna Gulzar about why she chose such a sensitive topic.
In an EXCLSUIVE chat she mentioned, “Vishal sir and I made Talvar because so many questions were still unanswered. So much time has passed that there is a haze surrounding it now. So many investigations happened, contradicting theories were put out and every piece of information also has several versions. So we felt that at some point we need to, is not get clarity, then at least we should try to compile all the information or misinformation so that people can make an informed opinion rather than form an opinion from the headline that is shouting the loudest. I was never hesitant to take this subject because enough has been already on the case.”
The film has already had a good start after receiving good reviews and getting critical acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). For more on what Meghna Gulzar had to say about Talvar and why she chose it, check out the video below:
