Meri Bhabhi: There is no vamp in the show, claims producer!

After eons of showing love-hate relationship between women, Star Plus comes up with a novel thought - so they say, but that’s something we’ll judge once the show goes on air

Star Plus launched its new venture, Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi...Meri Bhabhi featuring Kanchi Kaul, Esha Kansara, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Kanwaljit Singh on Thursday (June 6). While most daily soaps feature a goody and a vamp, this show will only have good people, claim producers Deeya and Tony Singh. So how does the show go on without a conflict? “People are not bad, it’s the circumstances that make situations difficult,” says actor Kanchi. Producer of DJ Creative Unit, Deeya confirms that the show is different and they intend to concentrate on the positive side of relationships. “Our show will concentrate on the relationship of the nanad and the bhabhi. Times have changed and over the years relationships have evolved. I think this show will raise questions in people's mind. It will take thinking to another level. But isn’t an antagonist important to the story? “At DJ’s we always pitch things very differently. We like to think hatke and not follow a trend. It adds to the freshness. You don’t need an antagonist to make your story work. And we hope and believe this show will work,” replies Deeya.

Meri Bhabhi will go on air from June 17; we wish them luck and hope the show delivers what it promises.
