Thalapathy Vijay is currently the man of the moment, courtesy his latest Tamil release Mersal. The film was one of the most anticipated releases of this year, the hype around it prior to its release was seen to be believed. Post its release, the buzz around the film has doubled if its possible. This extended weekend, the movie has stormed the box office. Last night it was announced the film had grossed Rs 100 crore at the worldwide market. After crossing this prestigious mark, the film continues to rake in the monies at the international box office. The film has managed to earn Rs 8.8crore from Australian, UK, New Zealand and Malaysian markets combined! The film is also performing phenomenally in France. Vijay's Mersal is indeed the biggest release this Festive season. While on one hand, the film continues to set the Box office on fire, the movie has had its fair share of controversies on the other. Ever since its release the film was condemned by the BJP for mocking the concept of GST. Doctor also protested against the film by sharing pirated links as it showed the medical industry in poor light. reportedly, Kamal Haasna, the DMK party and Rahul Gandhi have lashed out at the BJP for attacking the film.
