Has Akshay Kumar just become the unofficial ambassador of Mexican synchronized swimming team?
We always talk of the Khan's as the popular figures when it comes to international exposure, but it looks like Akshay Kumar has joined their game.
Salman Khan may have been India's celeb ambassador at the current Rio Olympics, but it is Akshay Kumar who is making his presence felt, may be not for India but for the Mexican team. To be precise, the Mexican synchronised swimming team.
The Mexican pair of swimmers Karem Achach and Nuria Diosdado, performed to the popular song of Akshay Kumar's Khatta Meetha, called Aila Re Aila.
And they had nailed the moves so perfectly that we can't help but cheer for them. We are sure even Akshay Kumar would be so proud!
BTW, the duo ended up at the ninth place thanks to their scintillating performance and have also qualified themselves for the finals.
Akshay Kumar is already on a roll with all his three films of 2016 - Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom - hitting the bullseye at the box office. So like for his producers, even Akshay Kumar is a lucky charm for this swimming duo as well.
Talking about Rio Olympics, we cannot stop gushing over Dipa Karmakar's performance in the Women's Vault event. Though she only secured the fourth place but we are extremely proud of her. She is the first Indian to qualify for this sport in the Olympics. And not just us even our B-town celebs are in awe of this young athlete. Many of them took to Twitter to congratulate Dipa and appreciate her efforts. Akshay Kumar wrote on the microblogging site "You may have lost but you've won a million hearts and inspired a lot more to walk your path. Cheers to your spirit #Dipa Karmakar! #Proud"
BTW here's the video!
