Usha Soman joined her son in the last leg of a marathon that Milind is running...
When Milind Soman won the Ironman Triathlon in Zurich last year, he caught everyone's attention in India and across the world. He made headline all across the world, but after a few days everyone forgot him. However, recently he decided to run from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. Again everyone has started talking about his fitness and his new achievement. However, a video posted by the actor gives away the identity of the person who is Milind's inspiration. No it's not any actress or a sportsperson, but his own mother!
In the recent marathon that Milind was running barefoot, he was joined by his mother for the last leg of the run and this video is going viral on the internet! And it definitely deserves more views.
Milind Soman's 76 year old mother, Usha Soman, runs effortlessly alongside her son barefoot, and wait for the best part - she ran in a saree. And here I am thinking ten times before taking stairs instead of elevators. Last year also Usha ji participated in a fundraiser and walked 100 kilometres in less than 48 hours.
The video was taken during marathon in which Milind was running from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. Talking to Huffington post the Captain Vyom actor had said "I give credit to my mom for inspiring and encouraging me to take sports seriously. She was a professor of biochemistry and at the age of 60 when she retired she started trekking,"
Milind has been quite vocal about women's participation in sports. In an interview with a news portal he had said "Women should celebrate their health. We have training programs in every city. They run in running gear, but also in saris, salwar kameez, hijabs or whatever attire they deem fit and keeps them comfortable,”.
Well, without further adieu, let's watch the video that is going viral on the internet!
