The director of the film is concerned about his family's safety due to the film. Here's why!
Social sattire is a plot that everyone wants to try their hands at now after a few films did great business. As long as it is relevant and is not made for the heck of it, nobody minds. Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho seems like a film which has a great plot at display with a few laughs guaranteed. But while the film looks promising, it is the very reason why the director of the film Vinod Kapri is scared. In fact, he even sought Police Protection!
Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho is a story about a man who is wrongly accused of raping a buffalo and is forced to get married to the animal. This happens after the the Khap Panchayat passes a judgment. It seems the reel Khap triggered off something in a real Khap in Uttar Pradesh. They apparently passed a judgement that whoever beheads Vinod will get 51 buffaloes as a prize! Yes, it sounds ridiculous but it's a fact. This threat is giving the director sleepless nights and he has sought Police protection.
A worried Vinod says, "Actually I'm a little shocked and worried. Shocked about the death threat. But at the same time I'm relieved that what I wanted to show through my film has already even proven by such statements. I'm worried for my family not for myself. I'm seeking police protection because I'm here in mumbai and my family is in noida. In this busy schedule of releasing the film just 2 weeks later, I'm constantly thinking about my family at the back of my mind. So if they are protected I would be relieved."
Reality does bite after all!
