Vidya Balan has been around in Bollywood for over a decade now and one can easily that she is one of the most sought-after actresses we have today. The actress has seen her own share of ups and downs in the career. However, at one point in time, while she was trying to venture into the South industry, Vidya was bogged down due to the multiple rejections that she faced. In an interaction with Mumbai Mirror, the Dirty Picture actress was at her candid best as she opened up about her struggling days. Coming from a non-filmy family, it was definitely hard for Vidya Balan to make a cut in the tinsel town. It took a lot of time for the actress to finally make space for herself but she eventually did and how!
Vidya went a trip down the memory lane and said, "Coming from a non- filmi family I had no idea how to go about becoming an actress, yet I wanted to be one. It worried my family, though they have always supported me. It must have come as a relief to them when my first TV show, La Bella, shut down after a few months. They must have thought, Chalo, abhi to bhoot utar jayega."
Despite all the hurdles that came her way, Vidya refused to give up on her dreams and also enrolled for a Masters programme while she lost out on her initial projects. "It was three years of constant rejections from down South and there were days when I would go to sleep in tears. But the next morning, I was up and smiling, hopeful that something good would happen, and Parineeta did," she was quoted as saying by the leading daily.
The struggles that she faced in her life helped Vidya Balan connect with her character Tara Sinha from her upcoming movie - Mission Mangal. The actress has been busy promoting the film day in and day out. And we hope Mission Mangal works well. Vidya shares screen space with Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Nithiya Menen in the Jagan Shakti directorial. Mission Mangal releases on August 15, 2019.
