Mitron song Chalte Chalte: Kritika Kamra's remake of the hit Meena Kumari number from Pakeezah is worth your time - watch video

The first trailer of Mitron was quite funny and impressive. We are definitely looking forward to this Jacky Bhagnani movie. The movie will also be the debut of the uber-popular TV star, Kritika Kamra, which is at least my biggest reason to watch the movie. Well, a new song from the movie has been released and it is something the fans will cherish. The makers have released the music video of Chalte Chalte, a remake of the hit Pakeezah song. The original was sung by Lata Mangeshkar, while the new one has been crooned by Atif Aslam. The original number was picturised on Meena Kumari and is still a timeless classic. It takes guts to actually take up a song so popular and remake it. Did the makers do a good job? Well, we will leave the decision up to the fans. As we sort of did not agree with Dilbar remake, but you guys have been trending it on top of all music charts for weeks now.

Chalte Chalte has been recreated by Tanishk Bagchi, the man behind the super hit Dilbar remake. He has also penned the additional lyrics for Chalte Chalte. Honestly, we could not have thought of a better voice than Atif's to recreate the song. The original song was created by Ghulam Mohammed. Well, listen to the new number and tell us if you like it better than the original.

Mitron is the official remake of the Vijay Deverakonda film, Pelli Choopulu that had Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma in lead roles. In the trailer, we see Jackky as a lazy good for nothing Gujarati boy whose father believes he will improve in life only after he gets married. They take him to meet a girl for marriage. Enter Kritika, who simply lights up when she is on it. The actress always had fab screen presence and she is going to rock Bollywood too.

Also, while you guys are here, can we please take a moment to acknowledge that its time Bollywood gave remaking songs a rest. Every second movie is out to rehash one of our beloved memorable songs from the bygone era. We hope to see original stuff more often.
