The film clashed with Akshay Kumar's Rustom...
It's been a week since the big box office clash of Akshay Kumar's Rustom and Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro. And things haven't been working in favour of the Hrithik starrer. In fact, the movie had earned just Rs 51.18 crore in a week though it was made on a high budget of Rs 115 crore. The film is leading to disaster status. Not just that, the film is all set to be his biggest flop. In the 16-year-long career of Roshan, he has had his fair share of hits and flops and until now his biggest flops were Na Tum Jaano Na Hum(2002) and 2010 Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Guzaarish.
The much talked about clash turned out to be one sided in the favour of Rustom. The film garnered better reviews than Mohenjo Daro and also had the support from the industry. Hrithik felt alienated but was confident of his movie. Call it his confidence or overconfidence, even after the clash he promoted Akshay Kumar's Rustom on Twitter, which as we can see now, backfired. And the dismal opening collections followed by daily downhill figures of the movie wrote its fate at the box office.
Let's take a look at the top three disasters of Hrithik Roshan's career:
Mohenjo Daro - Rs. 51.18 crore (seven days), Budget - Rs. 115 crore
Guzaarish - Rs. 29.56 crore, Budget - Rs. 74 crore
Na Tum Jaano Na Hum - Rs. 8.14 crore, Budget - Rs. 14 crore
Hrithik's next movie is Sanjay Gupta's Kaabil which is all set to clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Raees, which again is much awaited in trade circles and among fans alike. Let's just hope the movie doesn't add up to the above list.
