However, it stills needs to do better if it has to be certified an average grosser.
Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro braved bad reviews and negative word-of-mouth response to show slight improvement in business on Sunday.
As per trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, the film collected Rs 12.07 crores yesterday, bringing its total to Rs 30.54 crores over three days. This is the same figure that Akshay Kumar's Rustom managed to cover in just two days (we are yet to receive the Sunday figures)! He had tweeted, "#MohenjoDaro Fri 8.87 cr, Sat 9.60 cr, Sun cr. Total: ₹ 30.54 cr. India biz."
However, Taran Adarsh also warned that, even though the film is doing slightly better performance, it still needs to deliver consistently good figures today as well as during the weekdays. Mohenjo Daro has comparatively higher production costs than Rustom, and therefore needs to do some really great business to break even. However with viewers annoyed with the film and all the negative buzz surrounding it, we are not sure if the movie can manage to do so. Keeping fingers crossed, I guess!
The film is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, who returns to direct a movie after six year since the failure of his last film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Mohenjo Daro marks the debut of Pooja Hegde, who used to act in South till then.
Here are Taran Adarsh's tweets,
So what do you think? Will Mohenjo Daro better its performance?
