The next most important festive period for Bollywood films after Republic Day is finally here. Independence Day has always been a lucrative time for films to release and for a few years, Akshay Kumar has been making a killing on that day. 2018 won't be any different as Gold releases on August 15. It's a story about India's hockey team which wins the Olympic gold in 1948 for the first time as a free nation. The trailer has been damn impressive which has gotten everyone's attention. But there is one other film which will rival Akshay's movie. It is John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate which is a film on corruption. Both are apt releases for that day, guess that's why no one budged from that date. Here's a bit more about the films...
Director: Reema Kagti
Star cast: Akshay Kumar, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Mouni Roy
Synopsis: Gold charts the journey of a team which wins the Gold medal in Hockey at 1948 Olympics after gaining independence from the Britishers.
