This Friday might just be yet another window of opportunity for Hollywood to dominate at the domestic box office. Many might take offence to this statement, but honestly, if you see the history, Hollywood this year has strategically placed there releases on Fridays when there are no big releases to hamper its chances. In India, local movies always overshadows Hollywood unlike China. Although in past few years, the trend has been altered, but people from the West still refrain from disturbing any of the biggies. This Friday, Star Wars The Last Jedi will take on Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Monsoon Shootout. That's hardly a competition there. But these days even Bollywood filmmakers have become smart. When Thor:Ragnarok released with Ittefaq and claimed maximum monies, the Sidharth Malhotra-Sonakshi Sinha starrer didn't feel the pinch at all 'coz it was mounted on a decent budget. And from the looks of it, Monsoon Shootout can become a winner on those accounts.
But before we talk more, let's figure out a little more about these films...
