And here comes the first clash of 2019 which pits two biopics against one another. Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi will take on Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Thackeray on January 25. Manikarnika is a biopic on the gallant Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi who fought the Britishers bravely. Kangana plays the lead role here and the film has been in controversy for Karni Sena protesting against it. Yes, the same group of bizarre people who have an issue with every historical period drama after Padmaavat. Another reason why the film is making so much noise is Kangana directing the film halfway which led to Sonu Sood quitting it. That created a lot of chaos as many questioned this move. But despite all that, the film is ready for release this week. As for Thackeray, the makers managed to remove another film out of their way, thus reducing their competition. And that is Why Cheat India.
