On Wednesday, social media was abuzz with the news of Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani being booked by the Mumbai Police for allegedly flouting the Covid-19 restrictions. It was reported that an FIR has also been filed against the two actors who were found roaming in the car near Bandstand Promenade and could not give a valid reason to the police for being out of their homes after 2 pm.
According to the Bandra police officials, Tiger and Disha's car had entered a road that was closed for work. After the police verified their documents, they were asked to take a different route. The two were apparently returning home from the gym on Tuesday when the police stopped them.
On Thursday, the Mumbai Police took a dig at Tiger and Disha using 'avoid unnecessary Heropanti' jibe to alert the residents of Mumbai that strict action will be taken if they don't follow the rules imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19.
"In the ongoing ‘War’ against the virus, going ‘Malang’ on the streets of Bandra cost dearly to two actors who have been booked under sections 188, 34 IPC by Bandra PStn . We request all Mumbaikars to avoid unnecessary ‘Heropanti’ which can compromise on safety against #COVID19,” read the tweet from the Mumbai Police's official Twitter handle.
After the reports emerged on social media, Tiger's mother Ayesha Shroff defended her son when a paparazzi shared a post on Tiger and Disha's recent fiasco. "Tiger, Disha in trouble for heading out during lockdown," read the caption on the post. Reacting to it, Ayesha updated the paparazzi with the new developments, saying that Tiger and Disha were returning home after stepping out for essentials.
"You got your facts wrong my dear. They were heading home and cops were checking Aadhaar cards on the way. No one is interested in “roaming” at a time like this. Please get your facts right before saying such things. Thank you! For your information, it is permitted to go out for essentials,” Ayesha commented on the post.
She further added, "Instead of bringing people down how come no one writes about the free meals he’s providing to front line workers!! That’s coz he himself doesn’t talk about it! So don’t judge till you know. Thank you.”
The said post by the paparazzi has now been deleted.
