Sources at the hospital said he is now stable.
Illustrious musician Ilaiyaraaja was admitted to a private hospital here on Saturday after he complained of slight pain in the abdomen.
"He was rushed to Apollo hospitals. It looks like some gastric problem and tests are being conducted. He will be discharged soon," a source close to the composer told the reporters. The hospital sources have now confirmed that his condition is stable, and there is nothing to worry.
Ilaiyaraaja, 72, has composed over 5,000 songs in his career spanning over three decades across multiple languages. He has composed music for Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. The National-award winning composer has produced some of the evergreen hits in southern cinema and also has memorable Hindi albums to his credit. His songs in Mouna Ragam, Sindhu Bhairavi, Thalapathi, and Agni Natchathiram still resonate in today's era. Ilaiyaraaja is often associated with R. Balki, Sathyan Anthicaud and others.
We wish him a complete recovery!
