Mahesh Bhatt's show Naamkaran is all set to undergo a huge leap. In a bid to give the show a new look, the makers have decided to go for a leap (a tried and tested formula of reviving the TRPs). Naamkaran, that revolves around the struggles of a so-called illegitimate child Avni (Arsheen Namdaar), boasted of an ensemble cast consisting of actors like Barkha Bisht Sengupta (Ayesha Haider) and Reema Lagoo (Dayavanti Mehta). But, it was Arsheen who was said to be shouldering the show. Considering her popularity, the makers faced a tough time deciding her post-leap face.
After scouting for a long time, their search finally ended on Shivani Tomar, who was last seen in Colors' show Kasam..Tere Pyar Ki. Names of actresses such as Sonal Vengurlekar and Vrushika Mehta were also considered for the role, but Shivani finally bagged it. We also hear that Tashan-E-Ishq actor Zain Imam has been roped in to play the role of Neil. Zain was last seen on Yeh Vaada Raha, which went off-air recently. As per the sources, "The new cast will begin shoot very soon. The channel and makers had to go for an extensive search to get an apt actor to take forward the lead role of Avni. And their search has now stopped at Shivani Tomar, who has shown her acting prowess in her earlier shows. Zain Imam has been roped in for Neil."
Shivani has earlier appeared on shows like Colors’ Kasam, Zee TV’s Mohra and Star Plus’ Tu Mera Hero. The actress played the role of Tanuja opposite Ssharad Malhotra in Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, her last outing on television. She was the reincarnated version of Tanu, played by Kratika Sengar who was shot dead in the show. How excited are you for her return on television? Tell us in the comments' section below.
