Nakuul Mehta replaces Manish Paul as India's Got Talent host

The TV actor is gearing up for his next project

Nakuul Mehta, who made his TV debut with Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha, is all set to host the reality show India’s Got Talent. A source says that Nakuul was the first choice for the sixth edition of the show.

“He has an innate sense of humour with a blend of benevolence and style that makes him an ideal choice. His popularity, charm and down-to-earth personality will help him connect with the masses and the contestants,” adds the source. Nakuul on his part is excited to host a full-fledged show. “The whole of last year I was hosting events and awards shows like IIFA and Star Guilds, but I was looking at doing a proper show on TV when IGT came my way. I think it is the best platform for a host because I will get to act in gags and travel the country. Also, it gives me a break from fiction show which I have been doing for two-and-a-half years. It also helps expand my brand,” says Nakuul.

He was looking forward to start shooting for the show on January 17, his birthday, but it got pre-poned and the auditions have already started in Kolkata. Though Mouni Roy is co-hosting with him for the Kolkata auditions, they are yet to lock in a co-host. As for the judges, the makers want to repeat their last year’s panel — Kirron Kher, Malaika Arora Khan and Karan Johar, but things are yet to be finalised.
