The biopic on Sanjay Dutt's life helmed by ace director Rajkumar Hirani hit the theatres today. The film is receiving praises from critics all over, especially Ranbir Kapoor's phenomenal act as he steps into the shoes of the controversial actor. Titled Sanju, the film narrates a series of interesting stories and anecdotes from Dutt's life. It partly focuses on the strained relationship of the Munnabhai MBBS actor with his father Sunil Dutt and his court cases and subsequent arrest for possessing arms and weapons. There are loads of entertaining moments in Sanju, but certain aspects of his personal life are missing from the biopic.

We stumbled upon an old interview of Sanjay Dutt from his younger days, where he poured his heart out. In this segment, Sanju narrates the part of his life when he underwent a transformation after he heard an audio tape of his mother Nargis Dutt's last words two years after her demise. He said, "I used to hear from these old junior artists that she was very friendly and very helpful... and she never had this problem of high and low. She used to sit with the unit, with the light man, with the spot boy and eat food with them and do everything and help them. When my mother died, I did not cry, I had no emotions. I had nothing. And it was after 2 years when I was sitting in a group and all of a sudden this guy started playing a tape." Sanjay Dutt heard his mother's voice recorded when she was in hospital in New York. On hearing her voice two years after her demise, Sanju burst out and cried for 4-5 hours. This was a turning point in his life and he was a changed human being thereafter.

Our editor-in-chief Tushar Kapoor watched the film and was all praise for Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Sanjay Dutt. He wrote, "There is a lot that is common between Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor. Like Sanju, RK too is a recluse and not the media’s favourite blue eyed boy. He too, like Dutt, has had his fair share of public breakups and columns written on how his career is at the risk of going down a rabbit hole after a series of flops. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that RK agreed to play Dutt in this biopic."
