The Bengali filmmaker has been admitted to AIIMS
Srijit Mukherji, who bagged two National Film Awards this year, met with an accident in Delhi this Tuesday. As per reports, the actor was travelling by an auto is when his leg accidentally came under the wheel. He is currently recovering at the AIIMS trauma centre.
A senior doctor from AIIMS informed, "He has hurt his ankle badly and has suffered injury and minor fracture in his left foot. He was travelling in an auto rickshaw which overturned last night following which he was brought here. He has undergone a preliminary three-four hour surgery on his left foot and he is recuperating."
The 37-year old director was in the capital to attend the 62nd National Film Awards. He won the National Film Award for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for his sixth film Chotushkone this year. Last year too his film Jaatishwar had bagged four National awards. He recently directed actress Sushmita Sen in Nirbaak.
