Yet again, Nayanthara has proved she is the undisputed queen. According to a poll by Chennai Times the actress has been declared Most Desirable Woman of 2016. She has retained this coveted title for the second time now. Wishes have been pouring in for the gorgeous actress on social media ever since the result was out, but nobody is surprised that she won. After all, Nayanthara time and again has proved she is the reigning queen down South. When asked what it was like winning this title tow times in a row, Nayanthara said, " Two years in a row...quite overwhelming, honestly. Over the years, I have felt very loved by the people. But at some level, it scares me. It places a huge responsibility on me to be better than what I am; to do even better films; to be nicer; to be even more well-behaved. I owe it to all those who've loved me so." When asked what it was that made her desirable, she revealed to the leading daily that it was the unconditional mutual love between her and her fans that has kept her going. " I work and give my best, and I leave the rest to my fans and audience. There has always been an unconditional mutual love between them and me, which has kept me going till this moment. Their love has me waking up happily and going to sleep peacefully . This is what I have prayed for since the day I stepped into this industry." Nayanthara is not only the most desirable woman, but also one of the busiest. Recently, she has signed on an untitled woman-centric project which will be directed by debutant and produced by Eors Internatonal. She will play a journalist who is in search of her true identity. Her extensive search across countries finally takes her to Tamil Nadu. That's all we know for now about this film. Then there's the much awaited Aramm, where she plays a district collector who looks into the civic problems of her jurisdiction. Her de-glam appearance has caught everyone's attention and fans are excited to see how she takes on this unusual character. She is also shooting for Dora, another horror movie after Maya's success. Kolaiyuthir Kaalam is also one of her projects that narrates a tale of a girl with a disturbing past. The first look was hard-hitting, to say the least. We will also see her don the Khaki for her cop role in Imaikkaa Nodigal where she is investigating a mysterious kidnapping incident. Phew! She is not called lady superstar for nothing.
In the 2016 poll, Tamannaah Bhatia took the second place, while Samantha Ruth Prabhu took the third. While last year, Tamannaah was at 5, and Samantha was only at 7. It's been a considerable jump for both of them.
