Nayanthara starrer Imaikkaa Nodigal is set to hit the screens this Friday and is easily one of the highly anticipated films of this year. Amidst the humongous buzz around the film, director R. Ajay Gnanamuthu revealed an interesting thing, which will surprise every movie buff. The filmmaker recently revealed that picked Nayanthara over Mammootty and his reason perfectly justifies the answer.
Apparently, the director had approached Mammootty to play the lead role in the film in 2014 and the actor had even agreed to do the film. However, after many changes in the script, the concept of its lead star altered and he thought the female lead will elevate the film much higher compare to a male lead and that's how Nayanthara came on board for the project. Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who makes his Tamil debut is portraying the character of a psychopath killer while Nayanthara is essaying the role of a CBI officer.
The cycle stunt in the trailer has become the talking point and is still in buzz due to its great execution. “When the director shared the idea of this cycle fight, we decided to make it as stunning as possible. With Atharva in the pedal, we knew for sure that this action sequence would be talked about. We decided to rope in the best of technicians to give the fight an international feel and quality, so we brought Hollywood cycle stunt specialist Leehonyiu from Hongkong. He has done a mind-blowing job along with ‘Stunt’ Siva master. The combination of Atharva-Leehonyiu-‘Stunt’ Siva-R D Rajasekar and director Ajay Gnanamuthu will give the audience the feel of a Hollywood action film,” said producer Jayakumar in a statement earlier.
