The actor became a household name in the 1980s
All of us remember Nitish Bharadwaj as the first Krishna of TV. He became a household name with BR Chopra’s Mahabharat that was a must have every Sunday in the 1980s on Doordarshan. The actor got widespread popularity, so much that till date he is known as Lord Krishna. The image of the mythological character stuck on for ages.
After a long hiatus, Nitish has made a comeback in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenjo Daro as Hrithik s father in a small role. The actor looks almost unrecognizable in the film. TV actress Kishori Shahane plays his wife. The actor is seen as Hrithik Roshan aka Sarman’s dad who predicts his entry into Mohenjo Daro.
After making his debut in TV serial Mahabharat in 1988, Nitish tried his hands in films and politics but somehow could match up the popularity of his debut TV serial. Since then, he has done shows like
Mann Mein Hai Visshwas, Vishnu Puran and Geeta Rahasya but could not repeat his success.
