One of the biggest film events of 2018 is the upcoming assembly of The Avengers in Infinity War. The next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been in the making for the past 10 years. THIS is where around 18 films have led us. For the fans, this is the Super Blue Blood Moon they have been waiting for. The movie has been written and directed by Anthony Russo and John Russo - who, now we learn, have gone to extreme lengths to keep the script protected from any leaks. They have revealed in a recent interview that none of the actors were given the full script of Avengers: Infinity War. Which means no one on the crew - Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johanson, etc - know how the movie pans out in totality.
One might call it paranoia, but understanding the number of dollars riding on this film, even this secrecy lacks efficiency. "We can divulge nothing at this point. We worked really hard to protect the secrets of the movie because this is the end of 10 years of storytelling and I think a lot of people [have] emotionally invested quite a bit into the Marvel Universe so we want to make sure they have the best experience they can have when they go in to see the movie," Joe Russo said in an interview with Kinowetter.
But here is the gold from that interview. The filmmaker also added, "We wrote fake pages for the script, we distributed fake pages. None of the actors have actually read the entire script, the real script. Very few people actually know what's going to happen in the movie." Recently Paul Bettany, the actor who plays Vision in the franchise, also had revealed the same. "We read scripts that were fake scripts and then they had fake twists and scenes that were never shot and you'd talk to the director and they'd say 'all of that stuff at the end? Not happening.'" he said in an interview.
In retrospect, it was indeed a marvellous decision by the makers. Tom Holland, on multiple occasions, has almost given away important plot details. Mark Ruffalo, accidentally, almost streamed the entire Thor: Ragnarok on his Instagram live feed. Zoe Saldana, as per rumours, has revealed the title of the fourth film to be Gauntlet. To err is human, to conceal the script is superhuman!
