A few days back when the first buzz of Star Plus coming up with a spin-off of Ishqbaaz did the news, we are were taken aback. While it is a great new programming initiative by the channel, it was unexpected that Ishqbaaz, which had recently cemented its place in the top 15 shows in the urban segment would get such an opportunity. While Ishqbaaz explores the love story of Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Anika (Surbhi Chandna), the spin off Dil Bole Oberoi will talk about the relationships of Om (Kunal Jaisingh) and Rudra (Leenesh Mattoo). The series will start off from January 26 and honestly, we are quite excited about the same.
However, when we conducted a poll fans did not seem too excited about the concept. We are guessing that some of them might have followed the concept so far. This can be true in case of ShiVika fans who are now riding high on the cute love story between the good-looking pair. Moreover, they are also uncertain about how much time will Shivaay and Anika get on that show. But we feel that while Ishqbaaz will be dedicated for this pair, Dil Bole Oberoi will give enough time to explore the love stories of Om and Rudra. We might also see Sahil and Soumya's (Nehalaxmi Iyer) cute crush story in that show.
A majority of fans right now are disappointed about the spin-off concept but we guess that the makers will answer their fears. Ishqbaaz is a rare show on many counts. It is urban and talks about three men rather than superwomen. Plus, there is no supernatural element so far. The cast is fresh and is looks damn chic. We really hope that Dil Bole Oberoi also does well. It is a new thought and we need freshness on TV...what say?
