With Comedy Nights popularity going high, the latest scoop on ace comedian Kapil Sharma is that he apparently demanded a sum of Rs 75 lakh to perform a solo live show! Yes! Now that’s his alleged fee hike doing the rounds!
Kapil, who is currently gearing up for his Bollywood debut with Abbas-Mustan’s next is getting a lot of offers for stand-up gigs in India as well as abroad. However, while initially his domestic fee would cater to a figure of Rs 65 lakh for the whole team, he has now hiked it to Rs 75 lakh, only for his individual performance! Too much, isn’t it?
According to a popular tabloid, "Kapil was approached for a domestic event, but he asked for Rs 75 lakh. Now the organisers are in a dilemma; they want him on board, but have limited budget. So, they are checking with advertisers and sponsors if they can chip in for such a hefty amount."
There’s no denying to the fact that Kapil has excellent comic timing that's sure to leave us in splits. But can’t he go a little easy? He might lose out on quite a lot of things if he clings on to such a nuance. In fact, this is not the first time Kapil has left the organisers in a fix. Initially too we heard reports of Kapil charging Rs 1.25 crore for hosting Sohail Khan’s Celebrity Cricket League, last year!
