Michael Jackson is the undisputed King of Pop and as the world celebrates his 57th birthday, we got MJ fans Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty to take a walk down memory lane reminiscing about their favourite MJ moment.
It was MJ v/s Spice Girls while I was growing up
Athiya, says, "I have always grown up surrounded by Michael Jackson's music and style because my brother adored him. My parents love him. My mum's music collection would always have his songs. I was obsessed with Spice Girls and my brother was obsessed with MJ. So we had both the posters in our bedroom and there was a line in between separating the two but the MJ poster would always take over my Spice Girls poster. I remember my brother was really small at that time and he could hardly talk but I remember him trying to pull off MJ's moves screaming disco."
I remember watching Daler Mehndi perform at MJ's concert
Sooraj, adds, "I remember dressing up like him at home. I remember asking my sister for seven to eight strands of hair that I would stick inside my hat and wear it. I remember wearing white socks, a suit and that hat with my sister's hair stuck inside, and going for an MJ's concert, sitting on Salman's shoulder and then watching Daler Mehendi perform. I have no recollection of MJ's performance because I had gone to sleep by the time he came on stage."
