Bollywood queen, Kangana Ranaut, is currently shooting for one of her most ambitious project Manikarnika in Jaipur. The recent pictures from the sets have gone viral and we must say that Kangana is looking quite poised as the royal queen, Manikarnika. From the leaked pics, we can see that Kangana is rehearsing the dialogue and prepping for her scene. The actress is putting every possible effort to make this film a memorable one. Earlier, while launching the poster in Varanasi, Kangana had said, “I’m so blessed to be here. With the blessings of Lord Shiva, we have launched it here. After coming on board for this project, I feel like I’ve achieved something very big in my life.”
The historical drama also landed in a controversy, when filmmaker, Ketan Mehta, who was originally supposed to direct the film, accused Kangana and producer Kamal Jain for hijacking his project. Ketan Mehta told HT, “This is regarding my project called Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen and her (Kangana’s) attempt and the producer Kamal Jain at hijacking the project. Since 2015, I was in contact with Kangana for the project. I was sharing research material and several drafts of the script with Kangana and she was actively participating. My legal notice says how we have worked on the project for two years and how all of a sudden everything happened. We have asked for the film (Manikarnika) to stop as we plan to go ahead with our project."
Apart from her personal life, 2017 has not been a good year for Kangana Ranaut what with two consecutive flops - Rangoon and Simran. Hence, Manikarnika needs to do well at the box office to bring Kangana back on track.
Manikarnika is directed by Krrish and also stars Sonu Sood, Vaibhav Tatwawdi and Ankita Lokhande in pivotal roles. The film is set to hit the screens on April 27, 2018.
