You might have been shocked when you went to watch Ant-Man, and found a younger Michael Douglas at the start of the movie. Then they they did the same thing to Robert Downey Jr in his intro scene in Captain America: Civil War. Now be prepared to see CGI do its work on Johnny Depp as well in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, as he is made to be younger in the movie. No, the movie is not a prequel to the popular franchise. Going by the first new trailer that has just sprung up on the internet, it looks to be a part of the flashback scene that shows why Capitán Armando Salazar, played by Javier Bardem, has a grudge against the mischief-maker Jack Sparrow.
The scene shows that when Sparrow was a young lad, he was a part of the crew of Salazar, but he betrayed his Captain that somehow lead the destruction of his ship, and later turning Salazar into a evil, scarred, vengeful monster. Salazar has return back from the dead with his crew, and he is on a vendetta mission against Sparrow. He even captures Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush)'s crew so that he can take down Sparrow. Sparrow meanwhile comes in the company of two youngsters, played by Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario, who join him in his adventure, as Sparrow does his best to stay out of the clutches of Salazar.
As expected, the trailer has some good looking spectacles, filled with ship battles, evil pirates and for a change zombie sharks. However, perhaps my eyes must have missed him, but Orlando Bloom's returning Will Turner is missing here. Here's the trailer...
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to be released in conventional, Disney Digital 3-D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D formats on May 26, 2017.
