Preity Zinta recently marked her fifth wedding anniversary with husband Gene Goodenough. She tied the knot with Gene on February 29, 2016. The wedding took place in a private ceremony in Los Angeles. Although the marriage took place in 2016, the couple was dating from 2011. She had revealed this in her tweet where she spoke about clocking a decade together. Even after all these years, Gene is still struggling with Hindi language. And Preity has now revealed that she mischievously takes advantage of Gene's ignorance and has taught him to call her 'malkin'.
Preity often takes to social media to share romantic messages for her husband Gene, referring to him as 'Pati Parmeshwar'. "He should have been the actor. He is the funniest man I know. Even in my worst mood, he can make me laugh. I love that he doesn’t understand a lot of Hindi,” she told Vogue in an interview adding that Salman Khan, whom Gene imitates to perfection, has taught him some cuss words. "I call him ‘pati parmeshwar’ and he asked me for the wife equivalent of the word. I told him it’s ‘maalkin’,” she added.
On their marriage anniversary, Preity had tweeted, Happy Anniversary my love. You're the reason I look down at my phone and smile and then walk into a pole. Cannot believe we clocked a decade together. How time flies ... Miss you .... Wish you were here. #5years #Happyanniversary #Hubby #Love #29feb."
Preity had earlier revealed that several of her family members, including mother and brother, had tested positive for Covid sometime back. Later, she had taken to Instagram to share the update, saying that they all have tested negative. She shared that she felt "helpless and powerless" being away from them as they battled the illness, adding that she is grateful for their recovery.
