The film will be produced by Thenandal Films, the production house behind recent Tamil blockbusters such as Kanchana 2 and Baahubali.
Director Arivazhagan will helm the yet-untitled Tamil remake of 2013 Malayalam hit Memories. The project, starring Arulnithi in the lead role, will go on the floors in October.
"My film will be the official remake of 'Memories'. I'll be adapting it in my own style for Tamil audiences without losing the soul of the original," Arivazhagan told IANS. The film will be produced by Thenandal Films, the production house behind recent Tamil blockbusters such as Kanchana 2 and Baahubali. The heroine and the rest of the cast is not yet finalised.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph of Drishyam fame, Memories is the story of a drunkard policeman, played by Prithviraj, who is forced to investigate a series of murders. All the murder sites leave a series of Biblical clues for the intelligent cop to make him get to the final piece of the puzzle, while he battles his own inner demons surrounding the deaths of his wife and daughter. The movie performed well at the box office, while also earning critical appreciation!
