Short hairdos are the new “it thing” and we feel our Bollywood beauties are following the west. Read on to know more!
After Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha, Priyanka Chopra has joined list of B-town beauties that have bid adieu to their long tresses. The actress was first seen posting a tweet on her decision to get a new hairdo. “Time to do something spontaneous!! Feeling a bit adventurous.. Chopping the tresses!!!!," she tweeted. The beauty kept her fans intrigued till the final moment where she posted pictures from the salon, at intervals. The end result however was worth the wait as PC looked smokin’ hot in her new bob! The actress’s move is being termed as a copy cat act of Sonakshi’s, as the Tevar actress too showed off her short hairdo recently. However, the first one to start the trend was PK actress Anushka Sharma, who made headlines with her sudden transformation. The trend of chopping off the tresses seems inspired from Hollywood where leading ladies like Kayley Cuoco, Victoria Beckham and Kylie Jenner have been in the spotlight for sporting short hair.
I'm not saying our Bollywood actresses’ short hairdos are exactly similar to those pulled by the Hollywood’s stars, but it is the trend which is being copied and is soon catching up. I believe our B-town beauties are bored of their long hair and are being 'adventurous' by chopping them off. The fad of short hairdos has always been a popular one in Hollywood and is soon spreading like wildfire in our industry as well.
One question though, why is being ‘adventurous’ synonymous with short hairdos? I feel actresses can experiment with their long locks as well, be it highlights, chic hairstyles etc. There will soon come a time when the chopped off look will be overdone and outdated. I would love to see an actress going outright bald for a change, without any role demanding her to do the same. Now wouldn’t that be adventurous? In my opinion, Kangana Ranaut and Alia Bhatt have guts to go bald and pull off the look with pizzazz.
