Punjab National Bank has lodged a new complaint against diamond czar Nirav Modi alleging a fraud of over Rs 11,300 crore. He was already being investigated by CBI for a fraud of Rs 280 crore in 2017 after the complaint by the second biggest government bank. Soon after the news made headlines, another blow came for Nirav Modi as their brand's ambassadors, Priyanka Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra decided to call it quits. It was reported that Sid is finding a legal way to get out of the contract, while it was alleged that Priyanka is suing the company over non-payment of dues. Though it turns out, the reports about Priyanka are not true. She is not suing the company, but like Sidharth, she, too, is finding a way to get out of the contact.
A spokesperson for Priyanka Chopra said, "There are speculative reports that Priyanka Chopra has sued Nirav Modi. This is not true. However, she is currently seeking legal opinion with respect to terminating her contract with the brand in light of allegations of financial fraud against Nirav Modi." Priyanka and Sidharth starred in an advertisement for Nirav Modi jewels. They had never worked on a project together so the freshness they brought to the campaign garnered a lot of attention. The ads quickly went viral. Unfortunate, that this jodi's first venture had such a sad end. We do hope to see them in a Bollywood movie soon though.
Priyanka is currently shooting for the third season of her ABC thriller Quantico. It is due to premiere in April. Though she has no Bollywood movies line up this year, she'd be seen in Hollywood ventures like A Kid Like Jake and Isn't It Romantic. On the other hand, Sidharth is looking forward to the release of his film, Aiyaary, which has been directed by Neeraj Panday.
