After making waves with her recent interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Oprah Winfrey sat down for an intimate conversation with Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The interview gave audience a closer look into Priyanka’s journey of self-discovery, her marriage to Nick Jonas and her New York Times best-selling memoir, Unfinished. However, one of her statements about her understanding of different religions has irked netizens to a great extent.
"With the swirling number of religions that we have, that live within the country as well. I grew up in a convent school. I was aware of Christianity. My dad used to sing in a mosque, I was aware of Islam. I grew up in a Hindu family, I was aware of that," Priyanka told Oprah in the interview.
Priyanka's statement raised many eyebrows. People started wondering how does singing in mosque makes one aware of Islam. Many people made fun of her logic while others gave a little bit twist to her statement.
Priyanka's latest release was the digital film The White Tiger. The Ramin Bahrani directorial stars Adarsh Gourav and also features Rajkummar Rao in a pivotal role. On March 15, she talked about how "special" she felt while announcing the Oscar nomination of The White Tiger for Best Adapted Screenplay at the upcoming 93rd Academy Awards. Priyanka had recently announced her own restaurant in New York, which offers Indian cuisine for foodies.
