Raabta is a reincarnation love story which was supposed to make people take to it immediately considering the fact that the theme has returned after a long time. But a wafer-thin plot has become its undoing. Yet it has managed to make money over the first weekend which may not be great but it will help the film stay afloat at the box office. In three days, Raabta has earned Rs 15.93 crore.
Taran Adarsh revealed the figures of the film saying. "#Raabta Fri 5.61 cr, Sat 5.11 cr, Sun 5.21 cr. Total: ₹ 15.93 cr. India biz." As you can see, Sunday numbers are lesser than Friday which is a rarity. Generally, Sunday scores are higher than the first two days as it is a holiday for everyone. There are people who work 6 days a week and thus Sunday becomes the day when films earn the most. But in Raabta's case situation is just the opposite. This doesn't look good for the film.Monday needs to get better numbers or things will get really tough for the film at the box office. Check out the latest figures here again...
Raabta didn't get good reviews from critics either. While they admired Kriti Sanon's performance and her chemistry with Sushant, the shabby plot left them highly disappointed. BollywoodLife’s Editor, Tushar Joshi, gave it just two stars, saying, “Raabta needed to have more edge and I mean not in terms of visuals but with its narrative. There isn’t much happening once we move to the flashback scenes and the parallel world. It is tough to understand and comprehend the strange tribal dialect and accent that Sushant uses to communicate with his audience." NDTV gave it 1.5 stars and said in its review, "Rajput, a fine actor, tries far too hard to play the boyish cad, behaving like a Ranveer Singh fan hopped up on sugar. He oscillates inconsistently between his broken Punjabi-English and regular English, but his energy just about sees him through. Sanon performs more consistently and has remarkably assured body language, but the past-life dialogues are too much for her to shoulder."
