The soundtrack has very eerie feel...When you listen to the whole album, you'll know what we are talking about...
The fourth part in the horror franchise Raaz will be releasing on September 16 and the music is expected to be as big as it gets solely due to the combo of Emraan Hashmi and Bhatts. Their last collaboration was Hamari Adhuri Kahani which had quite a few fine tunes to it.. Let's find out what they have in store this time. Check out the song by song music review of Raaz Reboot here…
Lo Maan Liya
The song sung by Arijit Singh has a very eerie tune to it and it goes well with the horror genre. However, the song will instantly remind you of Wajah Tum Ho (Hate Story 3). I thing the shelf life of the song won't go beyond the movie. Arijit Singh as usual sang it perfectly, but he has had better songs in the past. Lyrics by Kausar Munir are strictly okay.
Raaz Ankhein Teri
Second song in the album, again sung by Arijit Singh seems quite similar to Lo Maan Liya and its fate will be similar to that one. Lyrics by Rashmi Virag doesn't add much as well. I don't think this song will ever make it to my playlist. Though again Arijit Singh is sincere.
O Meri Jaan
It's good to see K.K. back in action. This talented singer has done full justice to the song. Also it's his genre. The music is by Sangeet and Siddharth Haldipur. The only song in the album composed by someone other than Jeet Gannguli. And the hook line is catchy and may find takers. This is the only song which sounds different from all the similar sounding tunes. Kausar Munir's lyrics are passable though.
Yaad Hai Na
This is the third song in the album to be crooned by Arijit Singh yet it does not leave any impact. How can you take Arijit Singh and create no magic. The tune sounds like the one that would have had an impact in the Bhatt films during early 2000s.
Hummein Tummein Jo Tha
This only duet with Papon and Palak Muchhal ends before you get the hang of it. With just 3 minutes of duration, the song has nothing new to offer. Lyrics by Rashmi Virag are childish. While this may be important to the plot of the movie, not good enough for album.
Yaad Hai Na (Unplugged)
Unplugged version of Arijit Singh song, sung by Jubin Nautiyal, is better than the original with minimal music and with more focus on lyrics. Jubin Nautiyal's voice is a welcome change to this Kausar Munir lyrical. It's very rare that someone can overpowers Arijit Singh in his own song.
The Sound Of Raaz
Weirdly titled 'the sound of Raaz', this one minute song is nothing but another slower version of Raaz Ankhein Teri. Sung by Jubin Nautiyal. And is eerie in tune and may sound good while watching the movie.
Overall the album has very old feel to it, the one that would have been in some 1920 franchise. All the songs of the album sounds similar apart from the one composed by Sangeet and Siddharth Haldipur. Jeet Gannguli disappoints in this fourth part of the horror franchise which is known for its soulful music. The one thing that I take from this album is that Arijit Singh can have mediocre songs. The album will be forgotten soon enough.
