Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film Raees is doing really good at the box office. The film has managed to earn Rs 9 crore (approximately) on day 11, according to BollywoodHungama.com and the total collection of Raees is hereby summed up to 137.96 crore (approximately). So if these figures are anything to go by, the film is inching towards the Rs 150 crore club really fast. Considering that it has got three of the finest actors of the film industry – Shah Rukh Khan, Mohommed Zeeshan Ayyub and Nawazzudin Siddiqui; the film is expected to continue to do exceptionally well. Raees released on January 25 and since it was a public holiday, the collections went up real fast. Within five days of it’s release the film minted around Rs 93 crore and entered the Rs 100 crore club in a week’s time. Raees, which also stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, released in over 2900 screens across the country. SRK’s gangster - drama clashed at the box office with Hrithik Roshan’s revenge drama Kaabil. So far both the films have done pretty well at the ticket window. While Kaabil has become the first film to have released in Pakistan after the ban, Raees’ release has been cancelled. It was suppose to release in theatres in Pakistan today but Pakistan’s censor board canceled the release because it is "concerned about the depiction of Muslims as gangsters in Raees". Sources have told Pakistan Daily that "representatives of security agencies in censor board were also part of the decision to ban the film." and that a reviewing committee will now be formed to look into the content of the film. "The movie is apparently demonising and defaming Muslims for showing them as goons and notorious underworld figures, sources added." the report further reads. We wonder what the future has in store for Raees in Pakistan but as far as India is concerned, the numbers continue to soar higher and higher.
