Is that why there were no special preview shows held for the film?
Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro opened to mixed to negative reviews and average occupancy rate at the box office.
It seemed that someone close the film, or actually the film's lead actor, had the inkling of what was to happen. That someone happened to be Hrithik Roshan's father, director-producer Rakesh Roshan.
As per a report in DNA, there were no preview shows held for Mohenjo Daro for friends and colleagues of the cast and crew involved in the film. The Roshans usually do so for any film starring Hrithik Roshan. An insider close to the film revealed that Rakesh Roshan was not too happy with Ashutosh Gowariker's latest effort with his son, and didn't want to the word to spread out that Mohenjo Daro was an average product before the release of the film. So he had reportedly cancelled all the preview show.
Don't know how much to believe the report, since the Roshans are technically not the producers of the film, and hence shouldn't actually have say in the preview shows. But then it's Bollywood, so anything can happen. Rakesh Roshan had directed Hrithik Roshan in few blockbusters like Kaho Na...Pyar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish and Krrish 3, so he knows what works and not work for his son.
Having seen the film, we can't help but agree with Roshan Sr.
