The maverick filmmaker comes up with this startling revelation
One of the darkest times for Kannada cinema was when the Sandalwood superstar Raj Kumar was kidnapped by the notorious forest brigand, Veerappan. But it looks like if the crazy elephant killer and dacoit had lived longer, he could have robbed us of one of the most famous and revered actors in South Indian cinema, Rajinikanth!
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma revealed that there is a scene in his upcoming film Veerappan in which the forest brigand was actually plotting to kidnap Thalaivar. RGV got to know about this notorious plot from sources very close to Veerappan and so he swears by the authenticity of the news.
Ramu also revealed that Veerappan was planning to kidnap Rajinikanth exactly in the same way he had abducted Raj Kumar. When asked about the same, RGV had this to say," From all the truth I gathered Veerappan was unbelievable, but what is even more unbelievable is the drama which went behind the plan to kill him. " So this scene has now become one of the most anticipated parts in the movie.
The tale of how RGV managed to get a clear picture about Veerappan is equally fascinating. He was in constant touch with many of the dacoit's ex gang members. He was always fascinated by one of the world's greatest villains and the effort and planning that went into the asia's biggest manhunt.
Veerappan is an upcoming biopic on the notorious forest brigand and what went into capturing and killing him.
