Liplocks just got a bit more interesting this year!
Gone are the days when people used to show flowers touching each other to show the act of kissing! We have just completed 2015, where nearly every film had one kissing scene, with the exception of biggies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (though it had one self-orgasmic moment, if you know what I mean!), Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani.
Though Censor Board did try to play spoilsport with quite a few films here (and even some foreign imports like SPECTRE), some of them managed to stay intact. So presenting to you 10 of the best kisses of 2015 (found videos where I can!), which you can argue in the comment sections below!
Ranbir Kapoor - Deepika Padukone
Film: Tamasha
Whenever Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone come together, crackling chemistry is bound. In their third film together, they have in total three kissing scenes. However, the first one is special, since it has more animal passion, as the two finally let go off their feelings for each other (that they were trying their best to rein in to their play-acting scenes!).
Ranveer Singh - Anushka Sharma
Film: Dil Dhadakne Do
One of the few positives of this flawed film was the endearing chemistry between Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. Their romance was young and sprightly, and their first kissing scene was too deep and passionate. They shared another kissing scene, but their first kissing scene scores way better in passion-o-meter!
Ali Fazal - Sapna Pabbi
Film: Khamoshiyan
The highlight of this horror thriller is not the ghost elements, but for its heavy duty kissing scenes, between the lead characters. Though there are many to count, we finally narrowed it to the one where Ali Fazal and Sapna Pabbi have a got at it on the top of a car. After all, making out in a dark car parking area on top of a car is everyone's secret desire, isn't it? Wink wink!!!
Varun Dhawan - Divya Dutta
Film: Badlapur
The kissing scene between Varun Dhawan and Divya Dutta in this revenge drama grabbed headlines, because of the age difference of the players involved (Divya Dutta is older to Varun). But the reason the kiss finds a place in the list, is the reason why it exists in the first place. Varun's Raghu wanted to use Divya Dutta's NGO workers as an excuse to hide his far more malicious plan, and the kiss was his was of seducing her. It was also a scene that showed Varun will go to any extent to extract his revenge, even if it meant manipulating an innocent person's feelings!
Gulshan Devaiah - Sai Tamhankar
Film: Hunterrr
Of course, a film that celebrates sexuality has to have one great kissing scene, and Gulshan and Sai make sure this is one that you will never forget! Their makeout scene is rough, teasing, passionate and yet so natural, even though they do it in a kitchen that is nowhere as appealing as the ones they show on our soaps!
Sushant Singh Rajput - Swastika Mukherjee
Film: Detective Byomokesh Bakshy!
Like the one we spoke about in Badlapur, this is another kiss that is as dark as its ambience, as Swastika's Anguri Devi tries to honeytrap Sushant's titular character with one long lingering kiss!
Kalki Koechlin - Sayani Gupta
Film: Margarita...With A Straw
Of course, the best kiss list has to include one with the same sex. Margarita..is one of the better films made in India that delves into lesbianism and disability. It could be one of the only film where people with physical limitations are shown to have urges like any of us, instead of just portraying them as sympathy seeking characters (I am looking at you, Guzaarish!). Therefore the first kissing scene between Kalki and Sayantani is sensual and important at the same time!
Randeep Hooda - Richa Chaddha
Film: Charles
The Charles Sobhraj biopic may not have the impact that everyone expected from the film when the trailer first arrived. However, you cannot deny Randeep Hooda kills it with his act of his smooth-talking, manipulative killer who can charm his way out of anything...including seducing his legal counsel, played by Richa Chaddha in giving him one hard kiss!
Vicky Kaushal - Shweta Tripathi
Film: Masaan
This hard hitting film is one of the best of the year, and has also managed to impress Cannes. One of the best aspects of the film is the near natural romance between Vicky Kaushal (impressive performance for a debutant) and Shweta Tripathi's characters. Their first kiss together is also so au naturel, sloppy at first, before regaining passion as they get lost in the feeling!
Ayushmann Khurana - Bhumi Pednekar
Film: Dum Laga Ke Haisha
DLKH is a film that proved that even if you are not size zero, you still can be appealing. And also alluring, as proven by the pretty Bhumi Pednekar in the above scene, where she successfully seduces her 'disinterested' husband into kissing her and later making love to her. With just three ingredients! A satin nightgown, a slass of water and a softcore flick!
