Makers of BV recently unveiled the first look of the film. Ranbir, Anushka and Karan have gone through a major transformation for this film. But who's makeover is the most impactful?
From period pieces to real life murders to reincarnation, silver screen has a little bit of everything in 2015. But one film, which I am really looking forward to is Anurag Kashyap's much delayed period noir epic, Bombay Velvet. With Ranbir Kapoor playing a street fighter, Karan Johar in an ‘antagonistic’ role and Anushka Sharma as a jazz singer, it's impossible for anyone to not be excited about this.
The makers of BV unveiled the first looks of the trio recently and they all have gone through some major transformation for this film. Take a look!
KJo - Karan doesn't look a thing like your traditional Bollywood villain. So I was taken by surprise when I saw KJo posing as Kaizad Khambatta in his first look from BV. The filmmaker certainly looks like a classic villain from the 70s. Wearing a scarf, we see Johar holding alcohol and giving the look Ranjit was famous for.
Anushka - Virat Kohli's ladylove plays the role of Rosie, a jazz singer who takes her fashion cues from 50s Bollywood heroines. Those fake eye lashes, thickly-drawn eyebrows, an accessory on her head and that Audrey Hepburn-inspired fringe is nice and gives her a rather theatrical look.
Ranbir - Sorry ladies, his abs might not be on display in his look, but with disheveled hair, a suited gun trotting Ranbir as Johny Balraj is looking stylishly deadly. There was another picture of him just showing his back and clinging on to the wires. In that grease-stained ganji, he looks more like Shah Rukh Khan from Dard-e-Disco. Except he's not playing a dancer. Johnny is a street fighter, who apparently goes on to become a big shot, which explains that corporate look.
So there you are. Let me know, whose transformation is the most impactful. If you ask me, it has to be KJo's because as I said earlier, it takes a lot to portray oneself as a villain given the kind of image he carries off-screen. But that's my opinion, you tell me yours by taking our poll here. Vote now!
