Madhya Pradesh court issues notices to the two stars and the director
Bajirao Mastani was one of the best films of 2015. It portrayed the life of the Maratha warrior Bajirao Peshwa and his second wife Mastani. Ranveer Singh played the role of the fearsome general and Deepika played the infamous Mastani. The movie won a great many accolades and was appreciated by all. It also had its fair share of controversy. Earlier on, Prasadrao Peshwe, descendant of the royal family had alleged that the film was factually incorrect and that portraying the royal ladies dancing was disrespectful. And now, the period film has entered the news for the wrong reasons once again. A Madhya Pradesh court issued a notice to the three for apparently not showing the script to the living descendants of the Bajirao family. A news report revealed that a man named Tamkeen Ali Bahadur, who claimed to be the descendant of the royal family, has complained that neither the script nor the movie was shown to him and his family prior to the release. As a result, he felt that the facts have been changed and distorted which has severely damaged the family's social image. In accordance to this complaint, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, writer N S Inamdar and all the people associated with the film's making and release have been asked to present a clarification in front of the Jabalpur bench within a month.
