Ranveer Singh took a huge risk to play an out and out evil guy in Padmaavat. Thanks to his conviction to the art, he managed to deliver a superlative performance. But it could have gone the other way round too. It could have backfired as well because Ranveer has mostly played likeable characters till now. Padmaavat was his breakthrough performance. He even got into the character by trying to look like the dreaded Sultan. But it did come for a price. Ranveer revealed in his interview with senior journalist Rajeev Masand for News18.com that his Khilji look scared of kids.
Speaking to Masand, Ranveer revealed, "It used to freak me out when in my Alauddin Khilji look... and I love children, I love playing with children. They used to look at me and start crying because of beard and stuff, they used to start bawling. I was like what am I doing." Aww... this is such a cute revelation. People around him were reacting to his Khilji look in their own ways and that was affecting him too. There are stories of the actor playing cricket with the kids of her society a lot of time. So it's true that Ranveer adores kid and thus their reaction might have shaken him a bit. Check out the video right here...
That's also a form of appreciation for his role. It is said that if you are playing a vile character, the audience has to feel hatred for you. Only then the character has made a mark. Ranveer has proved this belief to be true.
