Star Plus' 'Rishton Ka Chakravyuh' is an unusual story of a mother and daughter who are at loggerheads. The show will take the 6pm slot on Star Plus from 7 August replacing Mere Angne Mein. Actress Mahima Makwana shared the first promo on her Instagram account. She plays a rustic tomboy from Benaras in the show who ends up being a part of a rich family. There she meets her real mother who had abandoned her. The plot seems to be inspired from Yash Chopra's film Kabhie Kabhie starring Amitabh Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman and Neetu Singh. With her dreadlocks and kohled eyes, Mahima looks fierce. She has been a part of many shows. It also has an ensemble cast of senior actresses like Narayani Shastri , Sangeeta Ghosh , Anju Mahendroo and Lubna Salim. Narayani Shastri plays the role of a strict mother called Satrupa who controls an industrialist family. She is seen dressed in elegant cotton sarees. Sangeeta Ghosh plays the main antagonist on the show called Sudha. Newcomer Ankit Siwach plays the guy opposite Mahima Makwana .
The other actors include Praneet Bhatt, Ajay Singh Chaudhary, Lubna Salim, , Sanyukta Timsina and Tom Alter in main roles. Inspired from films like Kabhie Kabhie and the Ameesha Patel starrer 'Ye Zindagi Ka Safar ' the show is an innocent girl’s story who is abandoned by her mother and seeks love in her foster parents, and the fact that the girl child is always given second preference.
'Rishton Ka Chakravyuh ' is Narayani's first show after her marriage last year . Narayani Shastri, who shot to fame with shows like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' and 'Piya Ka Ghar', got married one and half years back to her British boyfriend Steven Graver a.k.a Tony. She was last seen in Life Ok's show 'Piya Rangreez ' where she played a negative role. She also did Chandni Bar.
Mahima Makwana who made her debut as a child actor in Balika Vadhu and than in Imagine TV show 'Preeto' along with Devoleena Bhattacharjee returns to TV with this show. Mahima claim to fame was Zee TV's 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke '. She also did Sony TV's show called 'Dil Ki Baatien Dil Hi Jaana Dil Hi Jaane'. Later she did 'Adhuri Kahani Hamari ' on & TV where people liked her pairing with Laksh Lalwani.
After Adhuri Hamari Kahani wrapped up Mahima finished her studies and is currently in her 12th standard. She also recently did a Telugu film called Venkatapuram. But seems TV is her first love and with an author backed role in Rishton Ka Chakrayuh, Mahima is back with a bang. The show is been produced by TV actor Bhupendra Singh and his wife Sanjot Kaur ..
