It feels like yesterday when I had the good fortune of watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens in a star-studded premiere with the likes of Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, R Madhavan, Rajkummar Rao, Sonali Bendre as the esteemed company. Now one whole year has gone by, and I am now looking at the release of the new Star Wars movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Rogue One is the first of its Star Wars spinoff that is getting the big screen treatment. It is based on the band of rebels who conspire to steal the plans of the dangerous Death Star from none other than Darth Vader, possibly the greatest villain in cinematic universe.

Now every Star Wars nerd knows that Star Wars is primarily the brainchild of the legendary George Lucas, who directed the first movie as well as the prequels, while serving as the producer for the rest. George Lucas later sold Lucas Films to Disney in 2012 for more than $4 billion, before Star Wars VII happened.

So what does the man, who created the Star Wars universe, think of the upcoming Rogue One? Apparently he liked it! Director Gareth Edwards, who previously made Godzilla, revealed that George Lucas has seen the movie and based on what he said, it seems as though the response was quite positive. Here is what he had to say, "Two days ago we got to show George the movie, and we all had a phone call and I got to speak with him yesterday, and I don't want to put words into his mouth, but I can honestly say that I can die happy now. He really liked the movie. It meant a lot. To be honest, and no offense to anyone here, it was the most important review to me. You know, you guys are important too, but he's kind of god... I will take that conversation to my grave. His opinion means the world to me."

Rogue One has an eclectic cast in Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen, and Riz Ahmed. It is scheduled to release in India on December 16.
