It's a big clash and hence the number...
Rustom and Mohenjo Daro are all set to clash at the box office. Two actors, who have completely different careergraph, are set to take on each other. It was a clash nobody could avert. In fact, both the actors can be seen happily lauding each other for the effort on the social media platforms. That's all good but a clash means a lot of money is at stake. We decided to find out how much is riding on Mohenjo Daro and Rustom from our Trade Expert Amul Mohan, Editor Super Cinema and he had this to say.
Talking exclusively to Bollywoodlife about how much is at stake thanks to the clash, Mohan said, "It's a subjective question. Rustom is budgeted at 80-85 cr while Mohenjo Daro is at 100. Right now only 180- 200 crores are riding on the film. These two definitely are big film but I still feel such clashes are not healthy because we don't have that many screens to support them." That's one concern every person in the trade has.
It was only obvious to understand which of the two film looks hotter and we asked Mohan to throw some light on it. "I feel on day 1 Rustom will open better than Mohenjo Daro. I know many people who want to watch the movie. But then I feel you cannot write off a film like Mohenjo daro either. People are busy writing it off. That's a wrong thing. It is a big film, has a big actor and is backed by a big studio. Keeping that in mind, it is wrong to write it off so easily. Hrithik Roshan is coming back after a long time, so the anticipation is more," says Mohan.
So can we look at 100 crore for both and Mohan feels, on paper it is absolutely doable.
